Basin Electric announces realigned cooperative structure to position departments for the future

Basin Electric recently realigned its organizational structure to better position the cooperative for the future.

"Our employees are our most valuable resource in meeting the needs of our members in providing reliable, affordable, and responsible energy,” said Todd Telesz, Basin Electric CEO and general manager. “This realignment will elevate talents and ensure a collaborative and effective reporting structure to continue delivering value for our members and their communities.”

The following organizational changes have been made.

  • The realignment will create two new senior vice president level roles: senior vice president and chief operating officer (COO) and senior vice president and chief technology officer (CTO). A search is underway to fill both positions.
  • The COO will oversee Asset Management & Commodity Strategy, Engineering & Construction, Environmental Services, Operations, and Transmission.
  • The CTO will oversee Information Services and Telecommunications and Security/Compliance.
  • Government Relations now reports to Chris Baumgartner, senior vice president of Member Services & Administration.
  • Corporate Services, which includes Aviation, Facilities, and Records, will report to Miles McGrew, senior vice president and chief human resources officer, starting Aug. 1.
  • Procurement and Resource Planning & Rates are now led by Todd Brickhouse, senior vice president and chief financial officer.
  • Mark Foss, senior vice president and general counsel, will now oversee Internal Auditing.
“Our goal and focus are to continue our strong standing in the industry and deliver value to our membership. I believe this realignment will enable us to more effectively and efficiently meet that goal,” Telesz said.
